Over the years we have filmed in some pretty spooky places. Most of our crew prefer not to spend a night alone in a dark haunted castle but we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to produce a TV pilot focusing on a group of ghost hunters known as Ghosts Within.
Ghosts Within are a family run team of paranormal explorers based in the Scottish Highlands. Their goal is to show that ghosts do exist, and to help people with paranormal experiences they have had. The team have a very varied skillset and they have multiple diplomas ranging from advance scientific analysis in paranormal investigating, modern demonology in paranormal investigating, practical ghost hunting scientific analysis in paranormal investigating, and ghost hunting event planning and management.
The idea behind the pilot was to shine a light on the family dynamic and follow the explorers as they carried out an investigation at Jedburgh Castle. The jail within the castle is said to be haunted by the infamous Edwin McCarthur who was executed in 1855. Although he is not the only rumoured ghostly resident, as there have been several sightings of a phantom bagpiper walking through the corridors.
We rigged up a series of cameras throughout the castle and transmitted the pictures back to a small cell where the family could watch as one of their brave party tried to make contact with ghosts.
Ghosts Within provide a range of services, such as the collection of haunted items, tarot readings and users can even book their own ghost hunting events.
