Mallard Productions were invited to produce a promotional film for the Scotland’s oldest school, the High School of Glasgow. The school was originally founded back in 1124, which probably makes them our oldest client.
The junior school is nestled in beautiful surroundings in Bearsden, just a short drive away from the city of Glasgow. This gave us an opportunity to get some great sun rising aerials to start off the film. Children are notoriously difficult to direct, but this wasn’t an issue as we wanted to capture real moments instead of fabricating anything. Once they had got used to the camera crew they all just went about their daily business and this gave us the opportunity to capture life at the school as it really is, without disrupting any of the classes.
We mixed both animation and live action to get across the key messages that the school wanted to emphasise. The film was then incorporated onto the landing page on their website so that it’s the first thing that parents will see. Since this film we have produced several other films for the High School of Glasgow featuring both their junior and senior schools.
