Editor / Animator Vacancy

Mallard Productions are looking for a talented editor / animator to join our creative team.

We would like to expand our in-house team with a technically minded individual who has a genuine passion for editing and animation. The role will involve editing, motion graphics and animation. This will be a full-time role, based predominantly out of our premises in Glasgow.

We would love to hear from anyone who has an active interest in animation / illustration (either 2D or 3D). We’re keen to speak to both recent graduates and experienced professionals alike.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and assembling stylish and engaging edits
  • Ingesting footage and being responsible for the safe transfer of content
  • Producing graphics, titles and animations
  • Create a mixture of 2D and 3D animation from concept to delivery
  • Creating ideas for visualising a script or treatment
  • Producing storyboards and wireframes to illustrate an idea
  • Recommend and maintain hardware / software to enable you to continue to produce content efficiently
  • Keeping project files organised and well maintained

Requirements:

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard video editing and animation software (At least one of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Da Vinci Resolve, Photoshop, Maya, Cinema 4D, etc)
  • Sound knowledge of visual storytelling principles, pacing, and narrative structure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey creative ideas and work closely with the team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
  • Good understanding of Youtube/Facebook/Twitch and other streaming and content delivery platforms
  • An advanced level of IT skills
  • A good understanding of Adobe After Effects and similar programs
  • A continual desire to improve
  • Interpret feedback/direction accurately
  • Good understanding of basic physics and their real world application for animation
  • Have experience working to tight deadlines and maintain a positive attitude under pressure
  • Have a great work ethic
  • Enjoy working in a passionate team and want to see the company grow
  • Have a passion for keeping up to date with the latest industry trends
  • Be able to adapt to a rapidly changing working environment
  • Take direction when required, whilst also working autonomously to self-direct and take ownership of a project where necessary
