We have filmed and live streamed many different music festivals over the years, but none quite like Orkney Folk Festival.
The event has been running since 1983 and is a fantastic mix of local Orcadian talent and international artists. We first provided live streaming services for the festival in 2022, following a live hiatus due to the effects of COVID-19. The mix of streaming and live acts was a great success and we continued to film and stream the event in the following years.
Over the four day festival we livestream at multiple events, showcasing the range of different venues and performance spaces that Orkney has to offer. At every location we bring along a professional bonded 4G/5G internet source and satellite uplink. These multiple connections are bonded together to provide a strong and stable connection, even in areas with patchy connectivity.
We stream with up to eight cameras (depending on the venue) and play a mixture of VTs that champion some of Orkney’s best tourist spots and local attractions. We take a live audio mix direct from the sound desk and add in some crowd mics to give the stream more atmosphere.
For the past three years the stream has been hosted on Youtube.
