We were approached by Gary’s Rainbow Shop to produce the music video for their latest single, Red Moon.
Gary’s Rainbow Shop is a four piece rock band from Glasgow, who give electric and lively performances. The band prides themselves on their sonic familiarity and measured risk-taking, producing songs abundant in hooks and prog elements. They take their influence from artists such as Biffy Clyro, Alter Bridge and Soundgarden.
The decision was taken to feature the band performing in an old byre, giving a retro/industrial feel. We opted to use a red colourwash to reflect the title of the song and ditched the tripods and gimbals for a more rock n’roll handheld feel to match the style of the band. It was an interesting video to shoot as the byre acted as a bit of a funnel for wind so the haze billows about a little like smoke, but we thought this looked quite good. There were a few objects within the byre that couldn’t be shifted so we decided to opt for a lot of tight shots instead of big sweeping wides. We feel it makes the video a little more edgy.
The band launched the music video on all the usual social media platforms to tie in with the release of the single. You can now hear the track on Amazon, iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music.
