Mallard Productions were commissioned by Scottish Forestry to film a video for their recruitment campaign, Great Place to Work. The aim of the video was to promote Scottish Forestry as a good place to work, by detailing what they do and the range of opportunities they offer.
Scottish Forestry is the Scottish Government agency that is responsible for forestry policy, support and regulation. They are passionate about the sustainable management and expansion of forests, and understand the vital role that trees play in tackling climate change and nature loss. Their role revolves around providing expert advice to Government Ministers on policy surrounding forestry, and supplying support for landowners, forestry professionals, communities and stakeholders involved with forestry. Scottish Forestry was created in 2019 and replaced the work of Forestry Commission Scotland.
The project took around 5 days to film, and was located in Edinburgh, Aviemore and Glenkinnon. We collected B-roll footage of Scottish Forestry staff conducting their daily tasks and interacting with their colleagues, and included interviews with these individuals on why the work they do is so important to the forest industry. Not only do the staff do vital work for environmental protection, but also work surrounded by great scenery and passionate people. The video had a duration of 90 seconds, and concluded with an ending card detailing where to apply for a job within the company.
We have worked extensively within the environmental sector, delivering video content to a wide range of clients, such as: SEPA, SNH, Zero Waste Scotland, and many more. It is always rewarding working for a project committed to a great cause.
