We were commissioned by Sporting Solutions to create a case study video of students within the Play Overseas service. Play Overseas support graduates within the U.S. college sport system, and grants them athletic scholarship opportunities to continue to play their sport in the UK whilst studying a degree.
Sporting solutions is an organisation that finds pathways for students to advance both as academics and athletes. This opportunity has a variety of benefits, such as helping graduates to expand their options, extend their sporting career, travel the UK or Europe, whilst also being cheaper and taking less time to complete a degree than it would in the U.S.
The case study follows three athletes that were allocated an opportunity by Play Overseas, who are currently studying their Masters’ Degrees at Leeds Beckett University. The video was shot on Leeds Beckett University’s Headingley campus, and showcases the athletes playing American football.
The team followed the athletes during a training session and mixed this with interview footage that was taken at the campus. Naturalistic soft lighting was used with a mixture of two cinema cameras to ensure the footage looks really crisp.
Play Overseas has helped over 270 students enrol across 24 institutions, and support students from the point of enquiry to departure.
